The Weekly Flash Report: The Board Update That Keeps Bad News From Ever Being a Surprise
The SBI Spring Summit: Building a Blueprint for Sustainable Growth
Executive Summary
A past employer drilled into me one habit that I've carried into every sales org I've run since: a simple, recurring cadence of communication with the board centered on a weekly flash report. At this conference, I walked through an actual version of the chart, week by week across a 14-week quarter: quota placed on the street, the team's rolling forecast, and cumulative bookings plotted against both, with a pipeline-growth chart running on the same rhythm.
The chart itself isn't the point. The point is that by the time a real miss shows up, the board's reaction is "we knew it was coming, how do we help" instead of "why didn't you tell us." I show the CFO-level team breakouts and the short commentary block too ... naming the two or three deals a quarter's actually riding on, and what happens if they don't close.
This is the same cadence that's in The CRO's Guide to Winning in Private Equity — downloadable, ready to plug your own numbers into.
